Thinapp and Accounting Packages

Hello community!

The following is what I have personally found in my travels with Thinapp and certain Account packages.

This is my first go at creating such a thing, so if you have anything to add or anything that you have found please feel free to add here!

Slashes in names hidden in the package.ini:

One of the most annoying things with packaging Accounting apps is that they love, and I mean LOVE their slashes. What this means is that as you go to build or create your shiny new project, it will always crash out on you causing much hair pulling and general swearing. In my experience I have found that even if you change the name when installing it will still have that cheeky slash hidden among the lines of text. After many hours I found the offending slash, covertly hidden out of sight, If you happen to have this same issue, my advice is that of common sense but apparently not found within easy google searching!.

1. Edit the package.ini file

Prep your Thinapp as per usual, Check the name of your dat or exe file is to standard (no slash) and the MSI package as well if you are creating one.

2. Preload build

Let Thinapp do its thing and compile all your lovely shiny bits together for your project, once you get to the the actual build option, open the edit package.ini

3. Go Hunting!

Obviously next step is to be hunt for the dastardly slashes! I generally found the slashes in the "sandbox="

Thats what I've found so far, as I find more out I will add to here,

Please feel free to comment if you have more to add!
