Thinapp IntelliSpace PACS Enterprise 4.4.532.1

Hi all, I'm new here and sorry about my English

So I'm trying to Thinapp that IntelliSpace PACS Enterprise 4.4.532.1 with thinapp v5.2 and it works fine, the problem is when I close the thinapp the process it still running and when a I try to open that again I receive the error message there is another instance running.

The application on the virtual PC just open one process and after thinapp this open two process with the same name.

I already tried create a vbscript to close that process on Function OnFirstParentExit but I don't receive any error message and the process still running.

Missing Com Add-ins in Office (Excel,Word,PPT) Thinapp

I am hoping that someone has run into this in the past and can help me resolve this issue. Here is the situation.

 

I'm trying to Thinapp Office 2007 (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and include a business Objects application in the same package. This software is just a Com Add-in in Office that allows it to pull data from the backend systems.

 

 

 

Office is working just fine but the issue I'm running into is that even though when I go to the add-ins options in Excel, PPT, and Word it does show the plugin is loaded, I can't seem to get the add-ins tab to show up and the plugin doesn't appear to be working.

 

The Native application appears to work successfully on my clean machine both captured from XP and Windows 7 (XP capture was just a test since it wasn't working in Windows 7). However when I launch the Thinapp on the clean machine it doesn't load the add-ins tab.

 

I'm thinking its some sort of isolation issue but I can't seem to find the issue.

Thinapp 4.6 Office 2007 - There is not enough memory or disk space

Hi Guys, Im trying to Thinapp Office 2007 SP2 Enterprise on a Windows 7

64bit VM. Constantly Im getting the message 'There is not enough memory or disk

space to run Word' whenever I try to run any office app on my virtual machines.

 

So far I have tried the obvious, giving the VM 8gig ram and stupid amounts

of disk space, for the primary disk, persistent disk and temp disk.

 

 

 

I have also tried just packaging Word on its own.

 

 

 

I believe this error used to be caused by an issue with the normal.dot

template on machines, if this is the cause this time im not sure how to

troubleshoot it with persistent disks.

 

 

 

The only other package I have thin app'd so far is Firefox which is

obviously a lot smaller but works perfectly.

 

 

 

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated because I would like to trial these apps around the office before the trial period runs out.

Thinapp 5.2.1 and Windows 10

I have a problem with virtualized applications with ThinApp 5.2.1 and Windows 10. In other operating systems work perfectly, but in Windows 10 gives me the following error: " ThinApp has encountered an unexpected error. Click Abort to close the application, Retry to debug, or Continue to ignore the error. Support info PID=3564, create_process.cpp@1949.

They are compatible with the virtualized ThinApp Applications in Windows 10 ?

Problem of GetObject

Hi,

 

When the virt exe to open a file using "GetObject" of VB6,not virtual,open the physical.

More specifically, it occurs when this way.

 

1. Packing the Excel2002 in ThinApp. *vExcel2002_cmd.exe

 

2. Install the Excel2007 to Windows7.

3. Put test.xls to C:\

4. "2_getobject" button of Peoject1.exe, run through the ThinAppExe.

  

　->To start with Excel2007.In this case, Excel2002 virtualized must start.

if you open a file without using the getobject, normally Excel2002 to start. *1_workbooks.opren" button

 

 

I'm very troubled by this event

We are looking for a way to resolve.

ThinApp: Encorr for Windows and BI Client issue

Hi,

 

I am sequencing Encorr for windows and Business intelligence client both applications.

 

After testing I found that both shortcuts is having an issues:

1) Encorr for windows:

    Launched-> half launched and message displays initializing.

 

2) Business intelligence client:

    Launched -> The executable comes and goes of looked at task manager and nothing launched.

 

The applications are developed in Visual basic 6.

 

To solve it,

- I have tried applying compatibility mode

- Changed isolation modes.

- With the help of procmon, I have even included, registered DLL's which might be required to be present in ThinApp bubble.

 

May I know what might be the issue.

 

any suggestions please welcome.

Need explanation on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.txt file

Hi,

 

I am new to this so asking. Might be you all knowing about this. please help

 

I have captured one application and If I look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.txt file there is one registry entry like.

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\CLSID\{0E3DF841-C6D4-468C-AF16-DB62D646E791}\LocalServer32

  Value=

  REG_SZ~%ProgramFilesDir~0016\EnCorr\BIN\encorr.exe#2300

 

in REG_SZ it's %ProgramFilesDir~0016 but it should be %ProgramFilesDir%.

 

May I please know that ~0016 represents to % sign or it's having difference significance.

Problem with load balanced session cookies within Thinapp

In our environment, we have made a Thinapp for users to access the Kronos time system with an older version of Java integrated. We have two Kronos webservers load balanced. Whenever the users access the kronos site natively, with the correct version of Java installed, everything works fine. Whenever the users access the Kronos site via the Thinapp I created, they randomly get errors about not being able to retrieve data.

 

Our Kronos analyst stated that the issue is with the session cookies. At some point the session cookie is being lost or not read correctly. Whenever the user is authenticated on one webserver, it works fine. But as soon as the other webserver tries to work with it, it doesn't recognize the user and errors out.

 

I am trying to figure out what setting may be causing an issue with the session cookies, but I have been unsuccessful so far. I have tried Merged and Full isolation modes under the %appdata% folder (Where I believe session cookies are stored. Is there a slim chance someone else has seen a similar issue, or is more knowledgeable on what may be going on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Packaging SAS Information Map Studio 3.1

Hi,

 

Has anyone thinapped SAS Information map studio 3.1. I have captured complete package and it is working fine. The only issue I am having is.

 

1) After connecting to backend, when I browse to tools->options. I can not see the radio buttons respective to each entry under data items section. Please find below image for better understanding.

I have checked the package and thought that there might be some dll's or ocx's but there is nothing of that captured in bubble.

 

Has anyone have any idea what might be getting wrong or anything missing.

ThinApp 32bit program for Windows Server 2012 R2

I have used ThinApp Enterprose 5.2.1-3655846 to capture an old application that could not run on Windows 7 64-bit.

It works fine, it even runs on Windows 8

 

BUT on Windows Server 2012 R2 I will not and I get the following error:

      Exception EAccessViolation in module xxxxx.exe at 000202B3.

      Access violation at address 004202B3 in module 'xxxxxx.exe'. Read og address 8800A08.

 

I have read that W2012R2 is supported, is there any known issues ?

How do I get on ?

Has anyone Thinapped Synapse for W7?

The capture was taken on a 32bit XP machine. Synapse is working fine for XP 32 bit OS. But for W7 32 bit it will not work. I get the information bubble indicating that it is reaching the vm thinapp capture then nothing happens. I attched the bubble or notification screen.

Problem opening word document

Hi,

 

 

 

A question from my side again.

 

I have one application. It is having one shortcut which points to a word document. The document is opening fine with Microsoft office word 2007/2010 when the file is kept locally and launched.

 

Now i want to make launch that shortcut with locally installed Microsoft Word 2010. Is there any way we can achieve this in the package.

 

Like in Microsoft App-V we can make applicaiton as merged with local resources to interact. Like in ThinApp we have isolation mode to keep it as merge and i have kept it merged but stil it is not opening.

 

Can any of you have any suggestions how to do this?

Mozilla FireFox ThinApp - flash player not work

Dear all,

we are searching the correct way to ThinApp Mozilla FireFox version 45, we've tried everything that we found in internet, any user guide ..but it was useless.. no one of this works well.

 

Each time we want to start Adobe Flash Player version test, on this link https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html, we get this error;

Unable to load DLL

 

C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerPugin_21_0_0_213.exe -> COMDLG32.dll

 

Access Denied.

************************************

 

We also tried to ThinApp Adobe Flash Player separately and link it to the project through package.ini with command "OptionalAppLinks=plugins\*.exe" but for Firefox doesn't work, it works very well for Internet Explorer.

 

As last test we've tried to install directly on base image on local machine but we get the same error message.

 

 

There are some suggestions ?

Thinapp Microsoft Dynamics 2012 keeps asking for .NET V4.0.30319

I've got a somewhat strange problem with making a Thinapp of Microsoft Dynamics 2012.

 

Before starting making the Thinapp, I have installed .NET 4.5.2 en the Visual-C Runtimes.

Restarted the system.

 

Start the Thinapp Capture

Install all prerequisites

Install MS Dynamics

Do my Postscan

Build the package.

 

However, when I try to start the Dynamics package, I get the message that it will need .NET 4.0.30319 even though .NET 4.5.2 is locally installed. Installing the NET 4.0.3 version doesn't work because 4.5.2 is already there?

 

Does anyone know the solution to this?

How to apply shims in ThinApp

Hi,

 

I am new to this issue. I have capture ThinApp application and two shortcuts are showing PCA message.

 

To suppress that, I tried traditional ways of MSI packaging of applying compatibility shims like apply compatibility mode to Windows XP service pack 3/2 and lower than that too. But PCA is not getting suppressed.

 

Is there any other way we can suppress PCA message.

 

Can you all please help me .

Will the thinapp x64 bit excel 2010 work if the machine already have 32bit office 2010 installed natively. I have tried to capture the package with various suggestions(Stopping office software protection service before postscan, adding environment variable) given in vmware sites , but still getting the license error.

File association for excel

Hi,

 

I have created a 64 bit office 2010 excel application and when trying to open an existing .xls file from physical machine through virtual xls, all the .xls files are showing as unknown file types. However I am able to open the documents.

 

So will this be the behavior or virtual excel should read .xls file and associate icon should show , when clicking open button. Just trying to understand the concepts.

 

Any help please...?

 

Note: In my environment, 32 bit office 2010 excel is installed natively and we have 64bit excel 2010 thinapped.

Thinapp of Java 1.7 : URL Shortcut (created and included into package during thinapp) crash when launch. Fault module: nt0_dll.dll

Background:

Thinapp java MSI installed on physical machine.

 

Desciption:

I had requirement to create a desktop ABC.URL shortcut which needs java 1.7. We cannot upgrade local java 1.6 to 1.7 due to some constraints. So I created Thinapp package of Java 1.7.

 

 

1. capturing machine already have IE11   installed.

2. Pre-scanned machine, Installed Java 1.7, did configuration to suppress updates. Followed http://blogs.vmware.com/thinapp/2010/01/step-by-step-instructions-on-how-to-thinapp-newer-java-versions.html

3. During configuraiton: created URL shortcut on desktop. Did configuration as mentioned in above link.

4. Updated Package.ini with MSIstreaming=1 property

5. Post-Scan and Build. Results came in Bin folder

    a. .DAT file

    b. .Exe File

    c. .MSI file

 

 

6. Installed MSI on physical Machine.

7. Launched shortcut but it failed to launch and crashed.

 

 

Please suggest any action plan to resolve this.

Edit the ThinDirect message and duration

Is it possible to edit the displayed text of the ThinDirect message and/or the duration the message? I have users that are asking for a better description of what is occurring and would like to see the message stay up longer.

Thinapp of Glims 8 and 9 keep hanging intermittently

At our hospital we are using two version of the MIPS Glims laboratory software.

 

Glims 8 is being used in one department. Another department has just upgraded to Glims 9.

 

Thinapp packages have been made with Thinapp 5.1.0-2079447

In both cases, the Thinapp packages keep hanging up intermittantly in use.

There seems to be now specific set of actions performed by users to make the application hangup.

 

The solution is to kill the app in Task Manager and have the use logout-login. After that the Thinapp works again, usually without problems until the next time.

 

The packages are run on our VDI-environment, while the GLIMS-servers are also virtualised and have 6 CPU's and enough memory according to MIPS.

The VDI's are running Windows 7 32-bit on 3Gb of memory.

 

DOT NET 4.5.2 is locally installed.

 

The Thinapp contains the Progress client as well as Glims. Nothing else.

 

I have made the following adjustments in the Package.ini

 

 

 

 

DisableTransactionRegistry=1

SandboxName=RN100209_Glims-MMI_Prod_8.11.10_V01

InventoryName=RN100209_Glims-MMI_Prod_8.11.10_V01

InventoryIcon=%SystemRoot%\Installer\{734BC78E-BFA2-453F-B0BF-1386B6FDDED9}\ARPPRODUCTICON.exe

SandboxPath=%TEMP%

RemoveSandboxOnExit=1

RemoveSandboxOnStart=1

 

In effect, the Sandbox is now located on the virtual C-drive of the VDI instead of the network (for speed).

It is effectively being emptied at startup and remved on exit as well.

 

In the progress.ini the following adjustments have been made as well:

 

MA_JVM_XMS=-Xms128m

MA_JVM_XMX=-Xmx256m

 

Very often, the thinapp seems to hangup when users are trying to print labels, but this is not always the case.

 

Has anyone experienced the same problems with Glims and if so, have you found a solution.
